Wow, what a week we had here at Love Lane Brewery during Eurovision!!

We kicked things off with “The Artist Experience” brought to us by Canvella on the 6th of May. This life model painting session was followed by local cabaret stars in burlesque, drag, and comedy. We also had a DJ providing the perfect soundtrack for an epic evening party.

We hosted a live semi-final screening on both Tuesday and Thursday hosted by the fantastic “Filla Crack”. Our glamorous and comedic drag queen had everyone in stitches and amazed us with her powerful vocals! Due to the success of the events hosted by Filla, we are over the moon to announce that we have now booked her for an additional six events this year Pride, Halloween, Christmas, and New Year to name a few 😁

Then a drag roast & lip sync extravaganza on Wednesday which saw Liverpool’s finest queens and Naya Thorn the most envied queen in Liverpool, ripping into each other before a lip sync smackdown! Guests tucked into our finest Roast with all the trimmings. Yes, you heard that correct- A roast on Wednesday. Why not!?

Upstairs we were joined by the lovely team at Booker Flowers who hosted a brilliant floral masterclass creating traditional Ukrainian flower crown with a percentage of ticket sales donated to Ukrainian charities.

On Friday “Nana Funk” joined us to host the ultimate Eurovision quiz. Nana was straight up on our tables dancing and singing getting us ready for the main event and grand finale. A big congratulations to our Quiz winners “Save Your Quizzes For Me” for getting an amazing 66 out of 80 on a very difficult quiz!

On Saturday we started with a bang! Filla was back for a Eurovision bottomless drag brunch. The prosecco was flowing and it was great to see guests getting up on tables and chairs, dancing and singing along! We had a quick tidy up, re-stocked the fridges and then opened our doors for the Eurovision final live screening which was a fabulous sell out event enjoyed by all.

Outside of the venue it was great to see so many people throughout the city of Liverpool enjoying our Brotherly Love Vienna Lager. This was sold in the Thomas Rigsby, Fly in the Loaf, Hilton, Radisson Red Hotel, Bierkeller, and many more. This along with the Pale Ale, New England IPA, and Porter were all being sold at the Eurovision village at the pier head which welcomed 250,000 visitors. We were really pleased to get such positive feedback regarding the Brotherly Love Vienna Lager, which actually sold out at the Eurovision village at the pier head! The punters loved it in Thomas Rigby’s.

Zac from Baltic Fleet quoted “Went down a storm in our busiest week of the year, was also a staff favourite even for the pale ale drinkers”

Simon from the Baltic Fleet also quoted ” A great Ukrainian collab for Eurovision. Lovely easy drinking summer drink with plenty of character”

The atmosphere in the city was electric and we absolutely loved being a part of the celebrations. Liverpool welcomed more than half a million visitors in just one week- what a huge success and fantastic opportunity for the whole city.

A big thanks to all our customers, staff, Filla Crack, Queens and other suppliers involved.

Team Love x
